Dr. Howell grew up in Wyoming as the oldest of five children, and worked with his Engineer father for most of his youth. He credits that time spent working together as the igniting force behind his own passion for precision, discipline, and working with his hands.

He completed his undergrad studies in Biology and Public Health at Utah State University, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve University, and completed a Master of Science and Certificate of Specialty in Prosthodontics at The Ohio State University.

During his Prosthodontic Residency his focus was on comprehensive oral reconstruction and implants. As a Chief Resident, he taught and mentored other residents and dental students in every aspect of Prosthodontics. This experience instilled in him a passion for education, and he enjoys sharing his expertise by teaching groups of dentists nationwide the All-On-4® dental implant technique that he spent so many years mastering.

While a Resident he was trained in all aspects of dental lab work and began fabricated dentures and partials from start to finish. This laboratory training was key in helping Dr. Howell customize each prosthesis in-house, and become really particular about what was returned from the dental labs. It was this thoughtful attention to detail, and his absolute insistence on exacting precision and beautiful artistry, that nudged him to co-found Renew. Now with clients from coast to coast, the work the lab does is of the highest quality anywhere.
